R. J. Corman Railroad Group Signs Statement of Support with ESGR

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. May 13, 2019 – R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC today signed a Statement of Support with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), according to Phil Miller, chair of the Kentucky Committee of ESGR.

The signed Statement of Support signifies a company’s agreement to enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), to train its managers and supervisors to effectively manage employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve, and to appreciate the leadership and skills that service members bring to the workforce.

“We are pleased that R. J. Corman has reaffirmed its support of the members of its workforce who serve in the Guard and Reserve,” said Miller. “We appreciate this public display of support for these important men and women who serve our country and their employers.”

“R. J. Corman is pleased to join the community of companies that have committed to be a supportive employer to members of the National Guard and Reserve.” Said Ed Quinn, President & CEO of R. J. Corman Railroad Group. “We are looking forward to working with more Guardsmen, Reservists, and Veterans at all our locations across the country, and to committing to do our part to foster a friendly workplace for those who serve.”

Since Sept. 11, 2001, more than 16,000 Kentucky Guard and Reserve members have left their families and employers to serve in overseas contingency operations. ESGR is a Department of Defense office that seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of the members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. ESGR advocates relevant initiatives, recognizes outstanding support, increases awareness of applicable laws, and resolves conflict between service members and employers.
