Up to 60% Reduction In Fuel Cost.

Power-On-Demand - Power When You Need It
Our RP Series locomotives offer GenSet technology that uses two or more Tier III engines that start up based on the locomotive's power needs. So, as throttle position changes, one or more GenSets will be brought online. As the notches increase, more GenSets are utilized. To ensure even wear, the locomotive's computer will bring GenSets online with the least operating hours first.

Switching Applications
Fuel savings are realized through the use of smaller, more efficient Tier III GenSets, which provide a fuel economy advantage over one large, constantly running conventional engine. This is especially cost effective in SWITCHING OPERATIONS, where all three GenSets are not needed.

Auto-Start-Stop System - Save Fuel While Idling
After five minutes of inactivity, the locomotive will shut down automatically. The locomotive will also automatically restart to maintain ideal temperature, battery charge, and air brake pressure - all without an operator's assistance.

Because R. J. Corman is not only a GenSet locomotive manufacturer, but also a shortline railroad owner/operator with nine operations in six states, you are guaranteed that all future innovations will be DEVELOPED BY RAILROADERS FOR RAILROADERS..

R. J. Corman Railroad Company Case Study

On three separate "local" runs we found one RP20BD could replace two GP9's or one GP38. We realized a 31 - 35% FUEL SAVINGS on each run and reduced the number of locomotives needed to service our customers.
