Derailment Emergency
A track rehabilitation process in which fouled ballast, accumulated material or unsuitable material is removed from beneath and around railroad track components so the track structure can be cleaned, restored or rebuilt.
Track undercutting may be used to improve track support and drainage or to remove material deposited by flooding, washouts or other conditions.
