Surface Transportation Board Members Visit R. J. Corman Railroad Group

This past Tuesday, April 11, R. J. Corman Railroad Group had the honor of hosting a visit from members of the Surface Transportation Board (STB), the independent federal agency charged with the economic regulation of various transportation modes, primarily freight rail.

STB members visiting included Chairman Martin J. Oberman, Vice Chairman Karen J. Hedlund, Member Patrick J. Fuchs, Member Michelle A. Schultz, and Attorney Advisor Jetta Sandin.

The group met with R. J. Corman Railroad Group’s officials and toured R. J. Corman Railroad Company’s Lexington Yard, part of the R. J. Corman Railroad Company Central Kentucky Lines’ (RJCC) network, a longstanding partnership with CSX. They discussed the line’s freight and mechanical activity, growth the line has experienced since R. J. Corman began operations, the upcoming plans to expand the yard, and the company’s 50th Anniversary. They later visited and toured the company’s Nicholasville, KY headquarters.
