Rail Upgrade Enhances MW/MB Operations with R. J. Corman’s Industrial Development Group Partnership
R. J. Corman Railroad Company’s Industrial Development Group recently had the opportunity to assist an existing customer in Clarksville, TN, with planning and executing a railroad track expansion at their facility, thereby enabling increased rail capacity and improved operations.
MW/MB, LLC, a manufacturer of roofing materials, operates a facility served by R. J. Corman’s Memphis Line (RJCM) which began in 2005. In 2024, MW/MB engaged R. J. Corman’s Commercial and Industrial Development teams to discuss a potential on-site rail expansion project. Both groups responded promptly, initiating collaborative efforts. The Industrial Development team worked closely with MW/MB to design a conceptual layout that aligned with the interests of both organizations, allowing MW/MB to obtain internal approval for the initiative. Continued coordination ensured the finalized layout supported a safe and efficient operational environment for R. J. Corman, while also adhering to MW/MB’s requirements for operations, scheduling, and budget. R. J. Corman conducted a timely review of the final plans and provided ongoing support throughout construction to help achieve the customer’s timeline objectives.
The track work was completed at the end of 2Q 2025, less than nine months from the initial conversation, and MW/MB is utilizing the expanded rail infrastructure to continue growing its business. “The R.
