Fall of 2019 was an exciting time for the R. J. Corman South Union Distribution Center in Woodburn, KY. This distribution center primarily handles large coils of steel and aluminum, but the operations there are expanding for a new endeavor that will include softwood transloading, warehousing, and loading.
Each year the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) recognizes exemplary performance in the railroad industry by presenting a series of awards. The NRC 2019 Large Project of the Year Award has been given to R. J. Corman for the company’s 2019 Midwest Floods BNSF Napier Project. R. J. Corman was recognized today, January 8th, at the NRC 2020 Conference during a Special Awards Presentation.

An outstanding job by one of R. J. Corman’s Railroad Services construction teams has earned the company recognition as Supplier of the Year from The Belt Railway Company of Chicago (BRC). R. J. Corman has been working with The Belt Railway Company for over 2 decades and is honored to receive such a recognition from this great switching terminal railroad.
While serving multiple functions, the R. J. Corman Memphis Line is a vital conduit for farm product shipping. This short line railroad has experienced a fantastic season for grain transport this year. The volume of grain received has led to an overall record-setting year.
