This past weekend, R. J. Corman taught local students from elementary age through high school about what it is like to think like a railroader. Parents and teachers were also intrigued by the company’s booth at Engineers Day (E-Day). This was all part of the University of Kentucky’s 2020 E-Day celebration held on the university campus in Lexington.

This week marks the third annual R. J. Corman Safety Commitment Week. Every year the company makes an intentional effort to begin the new year with a focus on safety. The safety and health of employees and the communities served by R. J. Corman is a top priority. The entire company participates in Safety Commitment Week through educational sessions, contests and giveaways designed to reinforce content, and the signing of the company safety pledge.

R. J. Corman Distribution Centers: Lumber Expansion Project to Serve Canfor Corporation

Fall of 2019 was an exciting time for the R. J. Corman South Union Distribution Center in Woodburn, KY. This distribution center primarily handles large coils of steel and aluminum, but the operations there are expanding for a new endeavor that will include softwood transloading, warehousing, and loading.

Each year the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) recognizes exemplary performance in the railroad industry by presenting a series of awards. The NRC 2019 Large Project of the Year Award has been given to R. J. Corman for the company’s 2019 Midwest Floods BNSF Napier Project. R. J. Corman was recognized today, January 8th, at the NRC 2020 Conference during a Special Awards Presentation.
