NICHOLASVILLE, Ky – Brian Miller, President of R. J. Corman Railroad Company, LLC, has announced his resignation to pursue other interests. The company has initiated a search for the ideal candidate for the position. Until a successor is identified, Mr. Miller will remain in his current role and assist with the search.

R. J. Corman Railroad Services completed 17.2 miles of surfacing and performed rail adjustments on two curves during a 48-hour uninterrupted shutdown of the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) light rail system. Due to consistent, daily wear and tear, it was time to conduct scheduled maintenance and repairs on the line.

 

R. J. Corman Signaling: PTC Projects in Alabama

As the PTC mandate approached its end-of-2018 deadline, railroads began looking for companies who could complete large scale construction on tight deadlines. Norfolk Southern awarded R. J. Corman Signaling with the job of upgrading or fully installing PTC in 37 locations. The job began in November of 2017 in Montgomery, Alabama and was concluded at the end of April 2018 in Mobile.

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky – R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC today announced that Fred Mudge, Chairman of the Board of Directors, is retiring after 19 years with the company. While serving in this role, he has worked diligently to bring attention to the importance of short line railroads and provided invaluable leadership, experience and expertise in the transportation industry. The Board of Directors will continue to work in conjunction with the management of the company to focus on strategic planning and driving toward long-term objectives.

R. J. Corman Railroad Services completed 17.2 miles of surfacing and performed rail adjustments on two curves during a 48-hour uninterrupted shutdown of the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) light rail system. R. J. Corman Railroad Services was one of the contractors selected to perform the necessary track maintenance and repairs because of their proven track record of completing jobs on-time, safely and efficiently. This job was no exception; the full scope of the project was completed in 38 hours and without any injuries or lost-time incidents.

Representative Santoro Visits R. J. Corman to Meet with Central Kentucky Policy Group

On August 2, Representative Sal Santoro visited R. J. Corman Railroad Group once again. Last year when he visited, he came during Railroad Safety week, but this year, he came to meet with the Central Kentucky Policy Group which was hosted at R. J. Corman headquarters. The Central Kentucky Policy Group is spearheaded by Commerce Lexington and represents an eight-county region in central Kentucky.

Nick Edelen Rises to Recognition by Progressive Railroading

Nick Edelen joined R. J. Corman in 2009 as a Management Trainee. After 18 months in the R. J. Corman Management Trainee Program, which included time in the operations of three of the company’s subsidiaries, Nick was assigned to work in what is now R. J. Corman Railroad Services Emergency Response. In this capacity, he has been active in the financial management of both large jobs and the overall monthly P&L performance.
