This August, R. J. Corman coordinated efforts with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and several local law enforcement agencies for two days of K9 unit training in Tennessee. During the first day, the units tested their skills at the Transit Solutions Group (TSG) yard in Lebanon. On the second day, officers brought K9 units for training on the Music City Star commuter train.

R. J. Corman Railroad Company, LLC Announces Agreement To Lease And Operate Childersburg Line

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – R. J. Corman Railroad Company announces the finalization of a long-term agreement to lease and operate a short line railroad from the City of Childersburg Local Redevelopment Authority (CLRA), CSX Transportation (CSX), Norfolk Southern Railway Company (NS).  The newly formed R. J. Corman Railroad Company/Childersburg Line (RJAL) is a 13.32-mile line located in Coosa Pines, Alabama, southeast of Birmingham. Previously the line was jointly operated by NS and CSX.

R. J. Corman Introduces New Locomotive Simulator

R. J. Corman Railroad Switching Company is putting together a locomotive simulator for the purpose of training and testing locomotive engineers and conductors. The mobile locomotive simulator is designed to help improve employee safety, operator efficiency, and the longevity of the equipment by having operators with better training and higher efficiency, therefore lessening the strain on the equipment and extending its life.

Multiple R. J. Corman Short Lines Achieve 2018 ASLRRA Jake Awards with Distinction

Several short line railroads under the R. J. Corman banner received ASLRRA’s Jake Award with Distinction for their safety performance in 2018. Safety is critically important to the Railroad, so to be honored with a Jake Award, a railroad must perform better than the Class II and III industry average injury frequency rate as reported by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) during the prior year.

R. J. Corman Material Sales: Green Line Extension Job

In preparation for the extension of the Green Line in Somerville, MA, Green Line Extension (GLX) construction crews needed 7,000 pre-plated ties with 115RE pandrol plates. The GLX project extended the existing Green Line north of its current terminus at Lechmere Station, and involved construction of six new stations along two branches, the Medford Branch and Union Square Branch, along with the relocation and reconstruction of Lechmere Station.
